Abstract:In this work.ZnSe powders were prepared at 100~200℃ for 12~36h by hydrothermal method with Zn and Se dissolved in NaOH aqueous solution as source materials. The orthogonal experiment desian was used and the effects of processing parameters on the grain size of the ZnSe powders were studied. XRD,EDAX,XPS and SEM were used to characterize the structure, composition and morphology of the samples. Optical absorption spectra of the ZnSe powders were measured. The powders were cubic blende ZnSe,and showed traditional absorption for the UV light. The absorption edge of the samples was 454.0~458.3nm,and shifted to higher energies due to the quantum confinement effects induced by the decrease of the grain size of the ZnSe.

Keywords:hydrothermal method,ZnSe,1l-VI semiconductor,absorption edge
