Abstract:Traditionally, foam glass was prepared by adding foaming agents to the waste glass at above 760't. This method caused large energy consumption and heavy pollution, and the heat resistance of the resulted foam glass was quite low (T ≤ 450℃). In this study, a thermal insulation material was prepared by microware heating directly without any foaming agent, using water glass as raw material; the W ions of the strong acid replaced the Na• ions of the prepared foam material, which increased the heat-resistance by 550℃ This new technology can largely decrease the energy consumption and increase the heat resistance. The addition of aluminum silicate fiber not only improves the property of the material, but also increases the heat-insulating property.
