Abstract:The influence of additives, including boric acid, magnesium chloride and aluminum fluoride, on the microstructure of aalumina has been studied by SEM. It was discovered that boric acid can promote grain growth, magnesium chloride has the opposite effect, and aluminum fluoride may promote big sheet crystal grain generation and development.

Key words:a- alumina; boric acid; magnesium chloride; aluminum fluoride; microstructure
