Effect of Dispersant on the Dispersibility of Powder

Abstract:The A12O3-Y2O3-coated ZrB2 composite powders prepared by co-precipitation were densified via the spark plasma sintering (SPS) and then their oxidation resistance at high temperature was tested. ZrB2 powders must have better dispersibility for better coating effect. Effect of dispersants on the dispersibility of ZrB2 powders is researched in this paper,and the results show ZrB2 powders have better dispersibility when the dispersant is PMAA and its content is 2vol%. The research lays a foundation for synthesizing better-coated A12O3-Y2O3 /ZrB2 composite powders.
