The Thermodynamics Analysis and Experimental Test of MgO Whiskers Prepared by Carbon - Reduction Method

Abstract: The equilibrium pressures of vapor Mg from the reductive reaction of carbon and magnesia at different tempera­ture were calculated. The thermodynamics conditions of the preparation of MgO whiskers were given. Using the the­oretical results, the preparation experiment of MgO whiskers was designed. The XRD pattern and SEM micropho­tograph of MgO whiskers had proved the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
