Abstract: A macroporous biphasic calcium phosphate ceramics were prepared from hydroxyapatite by slip casting with the addition of chitosan microballs．The phase compositionmicrostructurepore size and distribution were studied by X－ray and SEM．The results show that the sample with an average HA particle size of 260nm sintered at1000℃～1180℃ provided biphasic calcium phosphate ceramics with different ratio of β－TCP／HA and appeared more complicate fracture surface than those β－TCP ceramics．
