Abstract: TiO2 based multifunction ceramics are a kind of novel functional ceramics with dual functions of low-voltage varis tor and gain-boundary layer capacitor.The low breakdown voltage, high non-linear coefficient and large dielectric cons tant make the material useful in miniaturized electronic devices as trans ient high- voltage protectors and surge arres tors.In this paper,the research on TiO2 based multifunction ceramics is reviewed mainly from the viewpoint of the influencing of fabrication proces s and additives on the multifunction characteris tics.Moreover, the future development prospect of the material has been sugges ted。
