Abstract: Using SiC as raw material, porous SiC foamed ceramics were prepared by adjusting slurry viscosity at 1400℃.Forming technology was dipping organic precursors. The result showed that the section of the sample presents a threedimensional net structure, the wall thickness of the hole is proper, the distribution of the holes is homogeneous, the porosity is high, apertures are smaller than 30μm, and the main crystal appearance is SiC. The strength of samples has been improved by dealing organic precursors. The slurry on the ribs has been increased.

Key words: carborundum, porous ceramic, organic precursors, dipping
