Abstract: The Fe₂O₃-CaO-SiO₂ glas ses were prepared by sol-gel method.Effect of Fe₂O₃ on properties of CaO-SiO₂ glas ses and glas s-ceramics were inves tigated.The coagulative time of the sample whose melting point is lower than the general was the least.The density,acid-res is tance and alkali-res is tance of basic glas ses and glas s ceramics were measured.The density was similar in glas ses .The density of glass-ceramics was bigger than that of basic glas ses ,and the acid-res is tance and alkali-res is tance of glas s-ceramics were s tronger.The saturation magnetization of glass-ceramics was almost determined by the volume fraction of magnetite.The more the Fe₂O₃ content,the bigger the saturation magnetization.
