Abstract: In this paper,the mullite whisker growth mechanism and the factors related to mullite whisker growth were inves tigated through the experiment which in-situ synthes ized mullite whisker at high temperature by us ing kaolin and indus trial aluminium hydroxide as raw materials and AlF₃ and V₂O₅ as additives.Taking into account all the factors related to mullite whisker growth,a sample of many mullite whiskers with high length/diameter ratio and dis tribution uniformity was prepared.
