Abstract: The glass ceramics were prepared by using molybdenum slag as raw material,in which Zr02 functioned as a nucleation agent. The effect of Zr02 content on the crystallization and the mechanical properties was studied. The crystallization process was investigated by DTA,XRD and SEM.It was shown that the bulk crystallization process  occurs when the content of Zr0is 1%, and crystallization activation energy is 212.834 kJ/mol. It was found that bending strength is 66.9918 Mpa and micro hardness is 708.67 GPa.

Keywords: molybdenum slags, zirconia, nucleation agent, mechanical properties
