Abstract:Methods of preparing MgO powder through microwave calcination and thermal decomposition of basic MgC2O4·H2O,which is prepared with (NH4)2C2O4·H2O and MgCl2·6H2O as raw materials, are investigated in this paper. The effects of microwave power, radiation time on the rate of MgC2O4·H2O decomposing is researched. The products from experiments were characterized and analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results indicate that the microwave-assisted calcination time is short and the grain is fine compared with thermal decomposition.
