Simulation on Airflow Characteristic in Splat Cooling Section of Roller Hearth Kiln

Abstract: The velocity distribution both of gas in splat cooling section and of airflow in the splat cooling tubes was obtained by numerical simulation with CFD software FLUENT, and it has the characteristics as follows: (1) velocity of air both in the splat cooling tubes and from vents opened on tubes decrease along tubes' length gradually, with a different decrease range; (2)air near vents has a faster velocity than any place on the same section of tubes; (3) the flow direction of air sprayed from every vent produces different slope along tubes' length and gas mainstream in kiln; (4) from the tube installed at the lowest reach of the mainstream, gas velocity distribution along the inner height shows an "W" approximatively.
