Abstract: The process of ceramic 3D printing is generally divided into pre-stage ceramic forming and post-stage densification. According to the principles of different moldings, the morphologies of the ceramic materials selected should be different. However, for ceramic materials with the same morphology, the preparation and requirements are similar. This paper is aimed to offer a brief overview on the recent progress in ceramic 3D printing technologies, focusing on molding and densification of the ceramic materials with different morphologies. Meanwhile, the requirements and difficulties of different 3D printing technologies will be discussed in terms of the preparation of raw materials, while the differences in 3D printing of the ceramic materials with similar morphologies will be compared.

Key words: 3D printing; ceramic materials; green body; sintering; densification
