Abstract: This paper is aimed to discuss a core topic “The phenomenon of Jingdezhen Ceramic University”, which includes achievements of students who studied in Jingdezhen Ceramic University in 1980s, who have greatly impacted the contemporary art circle in nowadays China. This paper also indicates opportunities and challenges from two aspects, historical evolution and historical node. The “external environment” is mixed with “internal environment”, while the presence of “disciplinary establishment” and “interdisciplinarity” would bring out creative thinking. In a word, “the phenomenon of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute” should be regarded as the necessity of history.
