Abstract:To improve mechanical properties of alpha calcium phosphate bone cement, we used soluble carboxymethyl chitosan as an additive, which has good biological activity and adhesive viscosity. We got ca巾oxymethylchitosan/alpha calcium phosphate bone cement composites with different additives, and then detected their mechanical properties, product component and microstructure. We mixed carboxymethyl chitosan and alpha calcium phosphate bone cement powders to different proportions. And then, distilled water as the liquid phase was put in. After shaping and setting, 4 mm x 4 mm x 25 mm specimens were made.
