Abstract:High temperature raw copper red glaze was prepared with self-deoxidation method using lime glaze as based glaze,copper oxide as the coloring agent and silicon carbide or carbon as the reducing agent. The effect of the content of colorant,type and amount of the reductant on the glaze color were studied. The results show that the copper red glaze of good gloss and color may be obtained when adding ratio of CuO 0.8 wt.%~1.0wt.%,SiC 1.0wt.%~1.2 wt.% at the firing temperature of 1280℃ for 10min. The copper red glaze was analyzed by means of SEM, XRD, and relationship between batch formula,microstructure and coloring performances were investigated.
