Abstract: Longitudinal-optical modes of ZnSe一like and ZnS-like in ZnSe-ZnS superlattice have been observed. With the increasing of thickness of ZnSe-ZnS SLS, Zn Se longitudinal optical modes LO shift from frequences below the undisturbed value in the bulk to frequencies above it. These are explained as the action of strain and confinement effcets. For ZnS layer of ZnSe-ZnS SLS, the tensile strain effect causes ZnS LO red shift as well as the confinement effect does.

Keywords: ZnSe—ZnS superl attices, Longitudinal optical modes, Raman shifts
