Abstract: In this paper, the ceramic firing in reducing atmosphere is thoroughly studied. The results of the experiments show that oxidiying atmosphere doesn't fit for Southern China's daily ccramic products in firing. Evcn if the content of CO is lower than one percent or that of CO and H2 is lower than two percent in the atmospheres, the high-quality ceramic products can bc fired. The results also indicate that ceramic products should be fully oxidiyed first in order to make the tempcraturc lowerat the begining of firing in reducing atmosphere, and that the daily ceramic products at different porcclain-manufacturing zoncs can be fired in the same reducing atmosphere.
