Abstract:Ce3 + doped TiO2-ZnO nanopowders were prepared by the sol -gel method. The effect of Ce3 + doping on phase transformation, crystal structure and crystal size of TiO2-ZnO gels, was investigated by TG-DTA and XRD. The results showed that anatase, rutile, ZnTiO3, Zn2Ti3O8 and ZnO can exist in the sintered products by varying Ce3 + content and sintering temperature. Ce3+ doping depresses the transformation of gels to anatase, the transformation of anatase to rutile and the formation of ZnTiO3, as well as the growth of anatase and ZnTiO3 crystal. It may be attributed to the diffusion of Ce3+in the rearrangement of the crystals.

Keywords:TiO2-ZnO, sol-gel, phase transformation, Ce3+ doping
