Abstract: This paper has indirectly proved the peculiarily of na1ional treasure-oil spot temmoku wares in accordance with the selentilic rescarch resulls of the on1ly thrcc rarc sherds cxcaXa1cd sincc 1990S. The chcmical compositions of the rare jian oil spot temmoku glaze arc quile different from those of other Jian emmoku wares, possessing the Characteristies . of lower content of  Fe₂O₂ and Al₂O₂ but high silica. The formation of oil spot temmoku is closcly related 10 the boiling effect of Jian temmoku glazes. In addition to the suitable temmoku glaze formula, the key to imilatc oil spot temmoku wares is to improve thc mierostructure formed by the growth of oil spols under proper technological conditions and choose sevcral additives in order lo incrcase their mirror relleclion rate.
