Abstract: Xunyi Anren ancient kiln, which was discovered in the encl of the 、eventies, belongs to Yaozhou kiln system to fire mainly the popular porcelain, and provides new information to investigate Yaozhou ware with its various shapes and decorations. The investigfltion results show that the black glaze and the brown glaze of Xunyi ware are also one kind of crystallization - phase sepRrntion glaze. The forming mechanism of separntion phase is similar to that of the well - known Jian Temmoku's golden, grey and yellow hare's fur, and their bodies belong to clay - quartz - feldspar system with less Al₂O₃ content and hence much higher Si/ Al ratio than that of Yaozhou ware. So, the RO₂ mole number of 5 will be the separation boundary between Xunyi wme and Yaozhou ware bodies and can act as a preliminary evidence of provenance.
