Abstract:Using TEOS as silica source, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as templating agent, MCM-48 molecular sieve was synthesized with the molar ratio of n(SiO2): n(CTAB): n(H2O): n(NaOH)= 1: 0.45: 60: 0.48 by hydrothermal synthesis method, synthesized samples were characterized by XRD, TEM (EDS), DTA/TG, FT-IR and N2 adsorption-desorption, and the ratio surface area to volume is 698.0693 (m2/g), and the average pore diameter is 3.46142nm through BET algorithm.

Keywords:hydrothermal synthesis, MCM-48 mesoporous molecular sieves, N2 adsorption isotherm, characterization
