Characterization of the Flow-Field in the Preheating Zone of the Roller Herath Kiln

Abstract:The gas-flow field in the preheating zone of the roller hearth kiln was numerically simulated by FLUENT software. The characteristics of the gas-flow field are analyzed. The results are as follows: 1) Affected by the damming resulted from the fire plate, the zone of negative pressure, which is lower than those in other parts, is produced; this results in the eddy near the lower fire plate. 2)The difference in the opening of the fire plate also results in the difference in the scale and intensity of the eddy. When the fire gate opens in the form of a dash "-", the scale and intensity of the eddy is most significant, while the eddy has a little reduction when the fire gate opens like sawtooth.
