Study on the Mechanism of Mullite Whiskers Growth

Abstract: Mullite whiskers were prepared by wet chemical method, and the mechanism of whiskers growth mainly wasdiscussed. The experimental results show that the AlFg and SiF vapor produced at high temperature react on the sur-face of mullite nuclei to form the mullite whiskers in high aspact ratio by Vapor - Solid( VS) mechanism
