​Study on the Mechanical Properties and MicrostructureI of (Mg, Y) - PSZ Ceramics

Abstract: Ternary system (Mg, Y) - PS ceramics were prepared by using commercial zirconia powders, and densified PS ceramics with relative low sintering temperature at 1600 - 1700C were obtained by adding Mg0, X20; compos-ite stabilizers and improving processing technique. The mechanical properties and microstructure of ternary (MG, Y)- PS ceramics were studied after heat treated at 1400C and 1500C. The results showed that Mg - PSZ with addi-tion of Yttria can be prepared easily and had better mechanical properties than traditional Mg - PSZ.
