Study on the Preparation Factors of Iron Zircon Red Pigments

Abstract:This study used the industrial zirconium oxide and silica as the main material to prepare the iron zircon pigment by solid state reaction. The author investigated the different kinds of iron oxides, milling time, calcination temperature, mineralizer amount to analyse the effect of the four factors on the color generation of the pigment. The experimental result show that iron zircon pigment is suitable for glaze matured at more than 1200 ℃.
