Abstract: In this paper, researches on oxidation behavior of nonoxide ceramics at home and abroad are summarized from the points of view of experimental methods, oxidation of nonoxide ceramic and main theoretical results in this paper .It is pointed out that there are usual two methods to study the oxidation of nonoxide ceramics, one is TGA, and the other is weight measure after exposure .The compositions, phases and structure of oxidation samples can be analyzed by using XRD 、SEM 、WDX 、XPS 、EDS and TEM et al .The oxidation behavior of representative nonoxide eramics, such as boride, carbide and nitride ceramics are described in detail, and main theoretical results are summarized .

Keywords: nonoxide ceramics, oxidation behavior
