Abstract:Poor water -soluble drug ibuprofen was incubated as a model drug in the 150 nm pore sized mesoporous silica nanospheres. In order to achieve a sustained release of the drug, the mesoporous silica nanospheres were tailored by different mounts of organic trimethylsilane. The assemblies were characterized by powder X -ray diffraction, Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and N2 adsorption and desorption.

Keywords:mesoporous silica, surface modification, ibupeofen, release property
