Abstract:Porous magnesium ceramic filter material of high performance made from magnesium slag, pore-forming agents and firing aids, will be used for sewage disposal. The pore-forming effectiveness, porosity and intensity of three pore-forming agents were compared and analyzed. The property and microstructure had been tested. The results showed that when the amount of graphite is 20% and the sample is fired at 1100℃, the porosity (Pa) is 56.17%, water absorption (Wa) is 43.76%,bulk density (D) is1.28 g/cm3, crushing strength is 34.21MPa, acid resistance is 99.59% and alkali resistance is 99.81%.Furthermore, the two low -temperature pore -forming agents, pulverized coal and dolomite, can also improve the performance of the porous ceramics. The series have equal distribution of porosity, and the pore is three -dimensionally bonded, these all favoring the realization of its filtering properties.

Keywords:magnesium slag, porous ceramic filter balls, pore-forming agent, porosity
