Abstract:Cabbage-like NiO powder with hexagonal structure, comprised of nearly 2-D curvature surfaces, was synthesized by hydrothermal reaction from hexamethyleneteramine and nickel nitrate. The curvature surface is found to be about 2μm×3μm with the thickness of less than 100nm. Between the curve surfaces are some gaps which allow nano-sized barium titanate powders to be distributed inside the cabbage-like NiO supporters. The coating of barium titanate was fabricated by the solgel method. The processing parameters such as the pH of the solution, the additive, the quantity of catalyst on the photocatalytic degradation of the methylene blue are studied systematically. It is interesting to find that the photocatalytic activity increases with the increasing of the intensity of magnetic field method.
