The Preliminary Research of Porous Calcium Carbonate Ceramic Artificial Coral

Abstract: The porous structure of natural coral is a perfect structure that material scientists of tissue engineering are earnestly longing for. Otherwise‚the main component of coral‚is degradable in human body‚so there is a great future in imitating the compostition and structure of coral and developing new types of scaffolding material in tissue engineering. In this work we are planning to probe new methods to prepare porous CaCO3 ceramics‚then the way of salt－out is developed. Through this method it is hopeful to generate a kind of CaCO3 ceramics of high porosity and connectivity.
