Mechanical Stresses Analysis of Ceramic Cutting Tools

Abstract: The maximum mechanical stresses（Mises stress‚tresca stress and principal stress）in functionally graded ceramic tools and common ceramic tools were calculated．The results obtained show that the mechanical stress fields in functionally graded ceramic tools and common ceramic tools are almost equal in low cutting speed．The crack styles are almost the same．
