Abstract: Cordierite powders were prepared by liquid and solid methods respectivelyand infrared rediant characteristics of the powders were measured.The microstructure were investigated by XRDSEM and TG-DTA.The results show that infrared emissivities of Cordierite powders synthesized respectively by two methods exceed 0.84.Moreoverthe powders synthesized by liquid method exhibits higher infrared emissivities than those of powder synthesized by solid methodwhich can be attributed to the influence of powder morphology on infrared rediant properties.
