Abstract:  SHS welding is a new processing to join ceramic and metal .( TiB₂ +Fe) /Fe materials are fabricated by SHS welding in this paper .SEM analysis show TiB₂ +Fe cermet layer is fully dense .Interfacial bonding between TiB₂ +Fe cermet and Fe substrate is analyzed by EPMA,which shows interfacial bonding of two -layered product is obtained by the dissolution and the diffusion of Ti in the Fe substrate and joining of Fe binder with Fe substrate .The fracture of joints takes place in the TiB₂ +Fe cermet layer rather than at the interface .
