Abstract: The homemade TiC powders(D50=0.6μmBET=14.55m2/g)are used in this paper.The TiC powders are pre-treated to improve the disperserbility of them in water.According the surface properties of TiC powders as well as the zeta potential datea cationic polymer PEI is selected as dispersant.The influence of pH and content of dispersant on the zeta potential and dispersion of TiC slurries are characterized.PVA is selected as binder and glycerol as plasticizer.Rheological measurements show that the slurries exhibit thixotropy behaviorwhich is suitable for tape casting.Finallythe TiC green sheets are prepared and characterized by SEM.
