Abstract: Ba0.6Sr0.4Ti03/MgO powder was synthesized by a sol-gel method using citric acid as complexing agent. The influences of sintering temperature and synthesized procedure on the dielectric properties of the resulting ceramics were examined. The results indicate that fine and homogeneous powders (-200 nm) can be produced by calcining at 650℃for 1 h. The sintering temperature has a crucial effect on the dielectric properties of ceramic specimens. The preferred dielectric properties can be obtained in the specimen sintered at 1300℃. Compared with the Ba0.6Sr0.4Ti03/MgO ceramic produced by a   two -step procedure, the specimen prepared by a one-step procedure exhibits superior dielectric properties.
