Abstract: Single phase has been prepared via citric acid gel method through two steps calcining procedure. Calcining the dried gel at 750°C resulted in nanocrystalline (30~50nm) precursor powders containing intimate blending of BaTi₅O₁₁ and Ba₄Ti₁₃O₃₀ and single phase could be obtained when calcining the precursor powders at 1200°c for 2h. The single phase powders had good sinterability and when sintering at 1250°C for 4h reached 97% of the theoretical density.
