Abstract: The ceramic ties using chromate sludge as a main material were successfully developed first .The component of their crystal phase and the water absorption, the contraction, the solube chromium( Ⅵ ) were determined .The results show that chromate sludge can be applied to produce ceramic tile which the test of physical properties met the requirement in the nation stand, and when the chromate sludge content added is about 15 %, the phase crystallized from the ceramic tile is anorthite at the temperature of 1000 -1150 ℃.It has a thorough detoxification .
