Abstract: ZnO powders were prepared by precipitation method us ing zinc nitrate and ammonium acid carbonate as s tarting materials.he effects on the average diameter of ZnO powders of the types ,concentration of surfactants( DBS, PEG and Tw- 80) were discus sed. The results show: the presence of surfactants in the proces s of precipitation can control the growth and aggregation of Zn₂(OH)₂CO₃, the synthes ized ZnO powders have a smaller size and a narrow size dis tribution range and a high purity,the ZnO aqueous suspens ion with PEG is better than with DBS or T-80.
