Abstract:Al2O3/YSZ composites were fabricated using aqueous gel-casting compound out situ technique .The key to this process is prepartion of aqueous slurries of high quality, physical and chemical process of gel -casting .Results show Al2O3 and YSZ are all most solution .Al2O3 phase exists in grain boundary as the second phase .It was found that the grain growth of YSZ was in- hibited with the introduction of alumina, which resulted in higher strengh .
