Improving Specific Surface Area of Foam Ceramic

Abstract:Foam ceramic with excellent performance was prepared, using porcelain stone, feldspar and talc as the raw materials and polyurethane foam as the shaped precursor. The technical factors affecting the specific surface area of the foam ceramic were discussed. The results show that the slurry loading can be improved significantly by modifying polyurethane foam precursor with polyacrylamide solution. Using twice slurry loading technique and gelatin as a foam stabilizer, the specific surface area of the foam ceramic can be significantly increased.
