Abstract: SnO2-based nanopowders were prepared by sol-gel method. The CO/CH4 gas sensing elements were manufactured by the plane thick -film technique using the prepared materials. The effects of organosilicon compound and rare earth material as dopants and the resistance of heater on the gas sensitive properties of the elements were studied. The results show that the gas sensors have good sensitivity and selectivity to CO and CH4 under the optimized condition.
