Study of Amperometric Gaseous Formaldehyde Sensors

Abstract: The synthesis and characterization of nano gold catalyst for formaldehyde electro-catalytic oxidation have been studied in this paper. The catalyst was characterized by TEM, SEM and XRD. The amperometric gaseous formaldehyde sensors were assembled and tested. A linear relationship between the oxidation current and the concentration of formaldehyde is obtained and the sensitivity is 760 nA/ ppm when the formal dehyde concentration is in the range of 0 to 50 ppm.
