Study on Nanometer TiO2 /SiO2 Composite Thin Film Prepared by Sol- Gel Method

Abstract: The uniform and transparent nanometer TiO2/SiO2 composite thin films were prepared successfully on clear glass in this paper. The structure and property of TiO2/SiO2 thin films were characterized by high resolution electron microscopy(HREM), the infrared spectrum (IR), TG- DSC and the contact angel meter. The results indicated that the even TiO2/SiO2 composite thin films are composed of spherical particles . The diameters of particles were less than 10nm. The addition of SiO2 could suppress the grain growth of TiO2 , form the low contact angle for water of thin film and enhanc the hydrophilic property .
