Studies of the Photocatalytic Activity of the TiO/SnO2 Composite Film

Abstract: TiO2/SnO2 compos ite film prepared by the sol- gel method was depos ited on a s lide glas s subs trate by dip - coating method at low temperature. The influence of different SnO2 layers on the photocatalytic activity of TiO2/SnO2 compos ite film was inves tigated. In addition, the mechanism of the photocatalytic activity enhancement of TiO2/SnO2 compos ite film was also analyzed. Since the conduction band (CB) of SnOis lower than that of the TiO2, the former acts as a s ink for the photogenerated electrons thereby making charge separation more efficient and improving the photocatalytic activity most.
