Abstract: Choosing the right sintering method is essential to nanocrystallization of aluminum nitride (AlN) ceramics. In this paper,the AlN ceramics was prepared by hot pressed sintering (HPS) at 1500℃,1600℃ and 1700℃, with MoSi₂ as the sintering additive. The results of XRD, SEM and mechanical analysis indicate that the ceramics prepared by this method has excellent property because of its fine grains (only about 100nm), uniform microstructures, high density, excellent plasticity and toughness compared to pure AlN ceramics.
