Study on Effects of Sintering Parameters on Strength of Al2O3 Ceramic Cast

Abstract: In this paper, Al2O3 ceramic cast was prepared by sol-gel process. Different firing temperature, the holding time, the heating rate and the chemical additive affected cast strength. It was shown that after being sintered at 1550℃ and held for 4h, the high temperature bending strength of ceramic body with 58vol% solids content can reach 14MPa, thus meeting the machine-finishing needs.
