Abstract: The perovskite type (Ca, K)NbO3 powders were prepared by hydrothermal method using Nb2O5, Ca (OH)2 and KOH as raw materials. The crystal structure of powders was identified by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). Energy dispersive X-Ray fluorescence spectrometer (EDX) was carried out to examine the element composition of powders. The morphology and particle size of the powders were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show that (Ca, K)NbO3 powders with a long rod morphology with a 2.0μm length and 0.2μm width can be obtained at 200℃ for 48h in an alkaline solution, in which the concentration of OH- is 6mol/L. The long rod shaped powders are expected to be the template grains used for tungsten bronze-type Ca2KNb5O15 textured ceramics.
