Abstract: Ti (C, N)-based cermets with three different dopings were produced by vacuum hot pressing sintering process. The microscope structure was analyzed by SEM, and the mechanical properties and relative density were measured. The results show that the combination property of 41.2wt%TiC-10wt% TiN-14wt%(Ni+Co)-12wt%Mo2C-15wt%WC-6wt%TaC-0.8wt% Cr2C3-1wt%C cermet is better than others. The grain is comparatively fine and uniform with a clear black core - gray rim structure. There are few pores in the structure with a higher density. Fracture mechanism is mainly intergranular fracture with particle mixed-mode fracture (transgranular fracture and intergranular fracture). There is clear tear edge in metallic phase. The Vickers hardness is 12.5 GPa, the fracture toughness is 8.9 MPa·m1/2, the bending strength is 1286 MPa and the relative density has reached 99.2%.
